What Should I Ask a Supplement Manufacturer Before a Quote?
A quote is only useful if both sides are talking about the same product. Before you ask for pricing, ask the questions that reveal how the manufacturer thinks.
Start with capability fit
Ask what formats the manufacturer can actually produce in-house. Then ask how they decide whether your idea fits that format.
You want more than a yes. You want to hear the tradeoffs around taste, dose, stability, packaging and cost.
Ask how quality is handled
Ask what documentation, testing, label review and batch release steps are part of the process. If the answer is vague, slow down.
For supplement brands, quality systems are not a nice extra. They affect confidence, repeatability and retailer readiness.
Ask what happens after production
Many launch problems happen after the product is made. Ask how finished goods are stored, counted, packed, shipped and reordered.
GIH connects manufacturing with packaging, inventory and 3PL planning, so the product is not stranded after production.
Where to go next
If you are close to a quote conversation, bring the product format, channel, target price, rough volume and launch timing. Those details help the manufacturing team give you a more useful answer.
